A funding resource for clients in th Muslim Community

The Zakat@ICV primarily assists Muslims that fall into the categories of the poor, needy and indebted who are currently residing in Australia. This may include some or all of the following:

  • Refugees
  • Individuals suffering from a mental health problem but who cannot afford the right course of action
  • Victims of domestic violence and/or sexual abuse who are fleeing from their partners and are in financial difficulty.
  • Older people who are restricted and isolated due to finance.
  • Those seeking support for a higher chance of employability.
  • Individuals suffering from any sickness, disability or terminal illness, and where there has been a loss of income.
  • Individuals with low incomes and those living on benefits whose income is not enough to meet basic needs.
  • Those who are in debt out of necessity, especially where they are incurring interest.
  • Homeless
  • Clearance of debt, including rent, bank, utility bills and money owed to other individuals.
  • Assistance with rent payments and rent deposits.
  • Funeral expenses if a family is finding it difficult to meet costs.
  • General household needs, such as cookers, washing machine, beds, carpets etc.
