Camcare has commenced a new psychological service for patients with a mental health care plan predominantly funded through the Better Access program of the Medical Benefits Scheme and offering after hours and bulk-billed appointments to low income families in the Inner East.
This service will operate alongside our established Access to Eastern Metropolitan Primary Health Network Psychological Strategies (formerly Access to Allied Psychological Services - ATAPS) and our community counselling team.
We have a contracted psychologist, Richard Zhang who comes with a wealth of experience working with young people, families and schools and is currently working as a psychologist with the Department of Education and Training Victoria. He is also able to conduct counselling sessions in Mandarin for those who prefer to use this as their first language.

Council to Homeless Persons (CHP)
The Council to Homeless persons has congratulated the Victorian Government on the significant investments in housing, homelessness and family violence announced in this year's State Budget. While many of the commitments outlined in the Budget had been announced previously, they are worth recognising a second time; in particular, the Government’s major housing centrepiece Homes for Victorians, which includes $1 billion commitment to a Social Housing Growth fund. The other big news in this year's budget was the $1.9 billion investment in family violence services. Given the insidious relationship between homelessness and family violence, this commitment is highly commended.
