AHURI report - Effectiveness of the homelessness services system

The AHURI report, ‘Effectiveness of the homelessness services system’ written for the Housing Ministers meeting in November has been released and is available for download. The report presents a number of findings including that demand for specialist homelessness services in Australia is much higher than the capacity of the system to deliver. The report also recognises a strong need for a whole-of-government approach to collecting and managing data from specialist homelessness services as well as in the evaluation of services.

Compulsory child safe standards start January 1st 2016

The Victorian Government is introducing new compulsory child safe standards by legislation to help protect children from abuse. The compulsory minimum standards that will apply to organisations that provide services for children to help ensure the safety of children. The child safe standards form part of the Victorian Government’s response to the Betrayal of Trust Inquiry.
