  • Email

K.Y.M. (Victoria) Inc is running a Youth Focused Program available to 15-24 year olds, supporting them to reengage into education, training and/or employment.

Reconnect: Engagement and Learning Supports Program, a Victorian Government initiative, is aimed at supporting disengaged early school leavers, in exploring their pathways away from secondary school and supporting them to engage in and complete a VET Qualification.

Who is eligible for the Reconnect: Engagement and Learning Supports Program?

  • Young People aged between 15-24 years
  • Must reside in the Knox or Maroondah LGA’s
  • Is NOT enrolled in any other education, training or course at the time of registration into Reconnect
  • Has been separated from school for a minimum of 14 weeks (with no intention of returning)
  • Not in full time employment
  • Young People aged 20-24 who are available to work but have not had full-time employment for 12 or more longer

There is an updated referral form for the Reconnect: Engagement and Learning Supports Program. The changes are helping us move towards a more Strengths Based Approach with the information we are gathering. We are also asking, when and where appropriate, for it to be filled out collaboratively with the young person being referred.

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact Annette Hunkin on 03 9722 5777 or Indi Mills on 0477 994 003.

Don't leave renters out in the cold

Thousands of Victorians are living in draughty, poorly insulated rental properties that are freezing in winter and cost a fortune in energy bills just to keep at a healthy temperature.

It’s unfair. The good news is that right now the government is reviewing tenancy laws, so we have a once-in-a-decade opportunity to fix the problem.

Consumer Affairs Victoria has completed the consultation phase of its review of Victoria’s rental laws and is now making recommendations to government. We need to make sure the government hears the voice of renters and progressive landlords.
