Yarra Ranges Youth Services offers free counselling for young people aged 12–25, and their families who live, work or go to school in the Yarra Ranges. The service provides generalist counselling, of up to 12 sessions.

The counselling service provides young people with the opportunity to discuss and receive support on issues or concerns that may be affecting their lives. Counselling can assist in providing young people with a range of options to help them overcome any issues or concerns they may have.

Counselling and support can be accessed Monday to Friday 9am–5pm at various locations across the council area including, Lilydale, Yarra Junction, Healesville and Belgrave. To make a referral please  contact the intake worker on 9294 6716.

The Counselling Program employs the ‘No Wrong Door’ philosophy which offers all young people (and their families)
assistance to access the most appropriate specialist service available, even if that service is not ours.

The Private Rooming House Operators Act

Message from CHP - Update 21 April 2017

The new Rooming House Operators Act comes into effect on 26 April, requiring all existing operators to be licensed by 24 August.

Those applying for a rooming house license must now satisfy a ‘fit and proper test’, including a criminal history check, a financial history check, and checks against various offences. Operators who opt to close their rooming house rather than apply for a license have been advised to issue an appropriate notice to vacate by 26 April.
